Divine Dragon: Hold and Win Slots
Divine Dragon: Hold and Win slots is a 5-reel, 20-payline game from Playson. It revolves around dragons and other animals of the Chinese zodiac. Obviously this is not the first game designed around lucky Chinese animals. That said, does Divine Dragon: Hold & Win differ in any ways? Find out in our Divine Dragon: Hold and Win slots review, which covers the gameplay, graphics, setting, RTP, volatility, and features (most notably the hold-and-win mechanic).
Gameplay
This slot has a standard setup that includes 5 reels and 20 paylines going across a 5x3 grid. You need at least 3 matching symbols in a line to earn a win. As with many payline slots, all wins have to start in the first reel and travel right.
Background & Symbol Graphics
The background is rather plain, featuring a navy blue color and a subtle-purple zodiac sign behind the reels. We give Playson credit for not going with the stereotypical red-and-gold background seen so often in these slots. However, this atmosphere still does not really add much to the overall experience.
Symbols & Payouts
The symbols include A, K, Q, J, a Dragon, Lynx, Dragon Turtle, and Phoenix. A Divine Dragon (marked by Yin-Yang symbol) acts as a wild symbol and can fill its reel (1x3). The regular Divine Dragon: Hold & Win max payout is 1,248x your bet, which is below average compared to many online slots. You can still net some nice prizes in this game but don't expect life-changing money. A Grand progressive jackpot is also available, but the value may or may not be worth more than hitting a 1,248x max win (in relation to your bet size).
Divine Dragon: Hold & Win Slots Features
This game has two bonuses, including the hold-and-win mechanic and free spins. You will also be playing for progressive jackpots, which we'll discuss below along with the features:
Hold & Win - You trigger this feature by getting at least 6 fireballs anywhere on the grid. This round offers 3 respins, with the counter resetting whenever another fireball lands. Each fireball is sticky, meaning it remains in place until the bonus ends. The goal is to fill the entire 5x3 grid with fireballs and collect the Grand Progressive Jackpot.
Progressive jackpots - Three progressive jackpots are available, including the Grand, Major, and Mini prizes. As explained above, you hit the Grand prize by filling the grid with fireballs during the Hold & Spin round. Meanwhile, you can also land Major and Mini jackpot icons in the same bonus feature. Both of these prizes are worth considerably less than the Grand progressive jackpot.
Free spins - You trigger 8 free spins when landing 3 scatters in reels 2, 3, and 4. This round features stacked Divine Dragons and bonus symbols, which boost your chances of winning big payouts.
Betting Options
You can wager between $0.20 and $100 per spin. The bet size is adjustable through plus and minus buttons in the bottom panel. As with many games, you can also use an autoplay option to make the reels spin automatically with your desired wager size.
RTP & Volatility
The Divine Dragon: Hold and Win RTP is 95.56%, which is about average compared to other online slots. We do not see a volatility rating, but we're guessing it is in the medium range. The 1,248x max payout lends itself to lower volatility, but the Grand Jackpot probably puts this slot in the medium range.
Play for Free
You do not have to deposit money at an online casino and play Divine Dragon: Hold & Win slots for real money immediately. Instead, you might consider checking out the free version first. Plenty of online casinos (with Playson software) and websites offer the Divine Dragon demo.

Verdict on Divine Dragon: Hold & Win Slots
We give Divine Dragon: Hold and Win an 8.5 out of 10 rating. This slot definitely has enough to make it worth playing, from the two bonus rounds to the three progressive jackpots. Our only complaints include the standard background and below-average regular max win (1,248x). Overall, though, we like most aspects of Divine Dragon: Hold & Win and give it our recommendation.
